Fresher's Hike 2022 was conducted on 18-19th Feb 2023. Fort Torana located in Velhe, Pune was chosen as destination which is around 200kms from Mumbai 30 first year students participated in the hike. We departed from KEM hospital at 11 pm. For most of them it was their first Hike and did pretty well for the first time. The difficulty level of the hike moderate.we reached around 7 am , had breakfast and started ascent.it took around 3:30 hrs to reach the mountaintop from the base village. The ascent was moderately difficult . After reaching the mountaintop the team had lunch and some rest. The mountaintop was explored in the evening along with all the Buruj and Maachis. The view of sunset from the top of mountain was simply breathtaking .

As the tradition of fresher's hike the stay was planned on the mountaintop itself.  The atmosphere on the mountaintop was enthusiastic, energetic due to ShivJayanti on the next day itself. The next day descent was planned on 6 am. Every step descending down reminded us of how we climbed this during the ascent. We reached base village at 9 am , had breakfast and started our return journey.

Fresher's Hike was conducted in our college after 3 years.As a souvenir custom made badges were distributed to both participants and volunteers.

 This all was possible due to efforts of Dr.Y.B.Chavan Sir and Dr.Pritesh, Dr.Darshana, Dr.Azim, Dr.Nilesh (volunteers from the department of PSM ). The department of Hiking acknowledges the efforts of volunteers Chinmay Gadhave, Aum Thakkar, Shruti Lahoti, Nutan Deshmukh (3rd year MBBS students) and Malhar khadse(2nd year MBBS student) without whom it would not have been this great !!
